How to Get to Książ Castle from Wrocław

The easiest ways to reach Wałbrzych and the castle, by car or public transport

Updated July 2026 · Książ Castle Tickets Concierge Team

Książ sits in northern Wałbrzych, about 70 km south-west of Wrocław. Most international visitors come as a day trip from Wrocław, and it is straightforward whether you drive or take the train.

By car

Driving from Wrocław takes about an hour on good roads. There is parking below the castle, from where a walk through the grounds brings you to the gate. A car also makes it easy to add the Palm House, or to continue to the Adršpach rock town over the Czech border, which is under an hour away.

By train and bus

Regular trains link Wrocław with Wałbrzych in roughly 1–1.5 hours. From the station a short taxi or local bus takes you up to Książ. If you are relying on public transport, check return times in advance, as evening services thin out — something our team can help you plan around your ticket.
